Bobo Noodle: NaCl Abuse

Have you ever wanted to like a place so much that your heart ached when you realized it was hopeless to try anymore? That is my relationship with Bobo Noodle. I've been multiple times, each time thinking, "Oh, I must have just ordered the wrong thing, I'll try something now." Sigh. I think it's time to give up.

I had such high hopes: It opened fairly recently, owned by the same people of I Fratellini! It's located just a stone's throw away from campus, and even though it's a pretty small establishment, it's really well decorated and trendy inside. And the name?!? I mean, how could a place called Bobo Noodle be anything but awesome?

Sadly, the correct adjective to describe Bobo Noodle is more like... mediocre. The dishes are incredibly salty, and the flavors are pretty unimaginative.

I am kind of in love with the light fixtures, though.

And fresh orchids and black paper napkins (because everyone hates white napkin lint on their dark pants)? So nice and genius!

But back to the mediocre food. Jake ordered the beef curry pho:

Everything about this dish was too much - too much salt, too much spice, too much blah. Not a fan.

Eli ordered the vegetarian pad thai, which he really liked and has ordered many times before. In my opinion though, there's nothing redeeming about this dish. Again, way too salty.

I wasn't that hungry, so I just ordered some veggie spring rolls. Another fault of Bobo - it's expensive. This little sucker of three small spring rolls set me back $6.50.

While the spring rolls weren't bad, I couldn't get past how much money I was paying for so little food. These spring rolls were tiny! Oh, and definitely a little too salty. Story of Bobo Noodle's life.
