Burger Brunch at the Brindle Room

On Saturday, I woke up with the best intentions for a fully productive day.

And then I started thinking about burgers.

At 7 a.m.

And I couldn't stop thinking about them.

So a few hours and 5 episodes of True Blood later, I found myself sitting at the Brindle Room with H&H and Jean, sipping on mouth-puckeringly tart strawberry lemonades (made with real tart strawberry puree),

nibbling on three freshly-fried to order doughnuts, made out of mashed potatoes (mind. blown.)  that were just crispy, warm, fluffy and delicious,

From left to right: powdered, salted caramel and almond hazelnut.  Each terrific and not too rich! I could easily eat a dozen and not vomit!

watching Heather order the biscuits and gravy served (featuring poached eggs and bacon), but knowing she'd really be envious of our

burger plate.

Oh the Brindle Room steakhouse burger.  Served only during lunch / brunch hours, this steakhouse burger is simply topped with choice of cheese and caramelized onions that taste of absolute heavenly sweetness.

This burger is easily one of my top 5 favorite burgers of the city. Small, but thick, it is wonderfully flavored by the bullion coating it receives before being baked off in the oven.  Each awesome bite released juices down my hand.  Messy but fantastic !

And the sea-salted steak-cut fries were perfection also. Crispy exterior encasing soft, potato delight.

I think we could've all used another set of doughnuts to round out the meal, but we resisted.  Thinking about it now, I have no idea why.

The Brindle Room is an absolute gem - off the beaten path for brunch, not too crowded, no waits (though they do accept reservations!), good service, and great food.

Han's Nonsensical Rating: Just go. (And eat as many burgers and doughnuts as you can.)
