Look no further: the Best Lobster Roll of Life at Neptune Oyster

Trying to find the best lobster roll in New England is admittedly difficult. And I can hardly say that I've been to enough places to even be an expert. But I can say this with the straight face: the best lobster roll of life can be found at Neptune Oyster. It's that good. I don't have to try the other places. When you know, you know... I've found: the One. *swoon*

When Han visited Boston a few months ago, we headed to Neptune Oyster for lunch on a Saturday. We didn't see any celebs, but we were lucky to snag a table (probably because we got there half an hour before it even opened to stand in line... and we weren't even the first ones!).

The space and small, but quintessential Boston in its old-time quaintness.

It's hard for me to avoid clam chowder, so I had to try their version.

I'm so glad I did, because even though it's not your typical clam chowder, it's still incredibly delicious. The soup isn't that thick, it's sweeter, and the herbs add a depth of flavor not in your standard chowder.

Alex and Lauren shared their fried clams with us, and wow. Perfectly breaded and so fresh, these fried clams were begging me to eat the whole plate.

Even the tartar sauce was awesome. Chunky and not drowning in mayo.

Alex ordered the hamburger topped with fried oysters.

This is what I call a beautiful burger. I didn't try it, but Alex gave it multiple thumbs up.

And of course, the grand finale: lobster roll goodness!! They'll ask if you want it hot or cold. Trust me - get it hot.

DSC04242eHave you seen anything so lovely? Everything on the plate is to die for - including the River of Butter. The lobster meat is incredibly warm, fresh, and not ocean-y tasting at all. The texture and tenderness is absolute perfection. I could not be more in love with this lobster roll.

No wonder Neptune is impossible to get into. But you gotta try anyway! Because it's worth it. Just remember to get there half an hour before it opens. :)
